Living at home, yearning to leave.

I think by now everyone knows I don't live in Danbury anymore. At least I hope everyone knows, I'd hate to think that Publisher's Clearing House has been knocking on the door of 60 Grand St. #2 with one of those huge checks made out to me. Since April 29th I've moved back with mom. This is a temporary setup until my new lease starts June 1st.

Let me tell you first what I was expecting, and how I felt about moving back. I should also tell you I never actually lived in N. Stamford with my mother, Jeff, Sean and Greg. After High School my mother re-married, and moved to N. Stamford with my brothers, I went to college in NH. I proved to be too much man for NH, and left after a semester. I stayed at mom's a week or so then moved to Danbury to live with my Dad, I eventually got jobs, and moved out on my own. Three years later I find myself here in Stamford. I expected that this would be a fun month, hanging out with Sean and Greg, and it has, but that doesn't outweigh the fact that I miss having my own place. I love having my brothers so close by, and we can hang out more than ever, which rules. I even asked Sean if he wanted to move out with me at the end of the month, he declined, his loss.

I was a borderline slob at my last apt., hell I've been a borderline slob most of my life, and the first week I started leaving stuff out, my mom flipped. My mother is a neurotic clean-freak, proof: she goes thru more than one vacuum each year, really. So anyway, she flipped out on me, and it felt just like when we used to fight when I was in High School, I hated that.
Since then, I've conciously tried to keep things tidy, I make my bed, I do my laundry, and I don't leave anything out anywhere, it feels good. I think this could stick, and if it does, I would have pride in my living space, and that's something very important to me.

Midtown Bigshot

For this next month I'll be working in Manhattan, I get my own office and everything:

If anyone is near Bryant Park (42nd St.) call me up, and we can "do lunch". Haha, listen to me being all important sounding.
