So I wake up to this story on the Fox News channel. I would find another link to that story but I could only find biased stories on foxnews.com, and the ny post (big surprise!).
The talking head prefaced the interview with the above soldier's father with "this story will make your blood boil!". Thanks Fox News, but I think I'll figure out how I feel after I hear it... anyway, instead of being objective, and neutral they just start in on how terrible it is that these kids dare question our involvement in Iraq, and this particular soldier's choice to join the military. The mayor has stood up and said that the city can't censor what children say, and the soldier's father then procedes to say that children shouldn't have this kind of free speech, and that when he was a kid the teachers censored them all the time. Here is a quote from the article :
"I want to think these letters were coached by the teacher or the parents of these children," Jacobs said in an interview from Camp Casey, Korea.
"It boggles my mind that children could think this stuff."
Jacob's father ended his interview with "Free speech isn't absolute".
argh.
Here is some photos taken this past Saturday when the gates were unveiled.
My two year contract is almost up, which means I'm allowed to get a new phone. My current phone was unacceptable when I got it nearly two years ago, and since that time I haven't seen much innovation in phones. Every new cell phone sucks, they're unacceptable. Please, stop copying each other. Stop with the crappy center rocker flanked by two buttons. No more "grid" of icons to choose from. Why don't you try something new? Be daring! Hire a designer with ideas different from anyone else's, maybe you might just make a splash. The clamshell is dead, get over it, star trek took place in the 1960s, lets figure out a new idea.
So far the only two phones I can see myself using are the Sony Ericsson T637 and the Nokia 6822. Neither is perfect, and both require some compromises, so until someone comes up with a better phone. we're all stuck.
If anyone hasn't heard of the gates yet, I've written up a quick description
